Act 1

Act 1: Personal Reflection

So far I think that Macbeth is not as bad as people say it is. The language the play is written is can be very hard to read though. The words in the play are hard to because you have to combine certain words together and the combined words do not look like anything we would usually write. Macbeth takes place a very long time ago so some of the words are different than the words we use today. It has a very high diction level. Every other sentence needs to be reread and interpreted at a slow rate. Only into Act 1, you can already see that each of the characters has their own personalities. One thing that surprised me was Lady Macbeth’s character. I was expecting her to be this sweet innocent wife who tried her hardest to stay out of her husband’s “work” life. But she is definitely far from my assumption. When Macbeth sent her the letter about how the witches said he would be king from here after, Lady Macbeth said that she would help him kill the king. Lady Macbeth’s explanation of how she would kill the king was very harsh and cruel, and I would have never expected of women of that time period to have thoughts like that. One thing I found strange was that The King told Macbeth he was second in line for the throne. When the witches told him he would be king, I just figured the king would make Macbeth next in line, not his son Malcolm. It was confusing why the king would do that if the witches had told Macbeth otherwise. That also leads me to believe that there will be many events when the king comes for dinner at Macbeth’s house. Also the witches in the play are a little eerie and strange. I think the three witches could mean something such as the past, present and future. Witch one who said his previous title Thane of Glamis. The second Witch would be Macbeth’s present because she addressed him as Thane of Cawdor. The future witch is the third witch who greeted Macbeth by saying Macbeth shall be king hereafter.

Second Thoughts About Kids Getting Cell Phones

Web Article

No matter how much the parents, and administration, and government try to get rid of cell phone scandals, teens will find a way around the new rules. Teens know all the little tricks to get around anything that stands in their way. The government has put very harsh and strict punishment on teenagers for all different reasons, but it has still yet to limit what teens are still doing under their desks. As long as teenagers have cell phones, all of the cheating, sexting, and wasting time problems are going to continue. Adults can try all they want, but unless cell phones are taken away all together there is going to be no stop to the craziness.
I don't think that taking away cell phones from teens is the right thing to do however. Cell phones are very important for parents. As a parent you need to know where your children are and have an easy way to reach them incase of an emergency. Cell phones might need to be monitored and checked more often by parents, but should definitely not be taken away. Parents need to be more involved in teenagers lives and need actually know how their teen's cell phone works! The cell phone scandals are not going away anytime soon. We are going to have to learn how to deal with the scandals and move on.

Quality of Life beats the Quality of Mercy by Alphie McCourt

I think that this news article is about just accepting life. Stop arguing with everything that has gone wrong and just accept it. Accept the fact that you might actually have been wrong. No everyone is perfect, and everyone will make mistakes. But sometimes you might just make mistakes at the wrong time and have to deal with the consequences. Deal with the consequences and move on with your life. You must get over the bump in the road and just keep moving on. Do not let anything get in your way of life. Just brush the bad right off your shoulders.
